This architecture illustrates the deployment of the ActivaSuite™ composable manufacturing solution on AWS, enabling real-time execution, seamless enterprise integration, and scalable data processing for industrial environments.
The ActivaSuite™ solution is built using Mendix and deployed on Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) across multiple availability zones for high availability and resiliency. Core MES functionalities such as production execution, material tracking, and OEE are managed within this environment.
A separate API layer, deployed on AWS ECS using Fargate, acts as the central interface for integration with external systems – including front end applications and machine data ingestion pipelines. All incoming traffic is routed through an Application Load Balancer and API Gateway, which forward requests to the API services in ECS, maintaining a clean separation between integration logic and MES core services.
All OT data from the production lines of the manufacturing plant is published using MQTT or OPC UA using AWS IOT Greengrass installed in an Edge gateway device using secured device authentication to transmit and publish data to AWS cloud.
ActivaSuite™ is designed for manufacturing customers who need full visibility and control over their production while efficiently managing resources and maximizing production yield. We serve both local and enterprise manufacturing clients across industries such as consumer packaged goods, medical devices and life sciences, automotive and tire suppliers, and leading automotive OEMs. Manufacturers can start with a single solution or deploy a complete set of composable solutions that scale with their needs.
This is a consulting offer by i4TECH. Once we have identified client needs in the first or second client call, we issue a Statement of Work (SoW) with a timeline or sprint plan. This SoW will be submitted to client (for the approval of the overall approach) and to AWS (e.g. to the AWS APN funding portal).
A dedicated industry consultant will work with the client to ensure solution design is met to specific needs and requirements from data architecture and design to rolling out ActiveSuite™ applications.
